Анотація
In the modern globalized world, proficiency in foreign languages – especially English – has become a critical competency for students in technical and engineering fields. Higher technical educational institutions are increasingly integrating language learning into their curricula to equip students with the communication skills necessary for international collaboration, research, and employment. However, language acquisition among students whose primary academic focus is technical poses unique challenges, including lack of motivation, perceived irrelevance, and limited prior exposure. One effective pedagogical response to these challenges is the use of scaffolding – a support strategy grounded in sociocultural theory, which enables learners to achieve higher levels of understanding through guided assistance.
