In the globalized world, English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction plays a pivotal role in equipping learners with the necessary linguistic skills for academic, professional, and personal success. Among the four macro-skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—reading often serves a foundational role, providing input for language acquisition and access to a vast array of information and knowledge. However, reading in a foreign language presents unique challenges for learners, extending beyond mere decoding of words to encompass complex cognitive processes such as comprehension, interpretation, and critical analysis.
